Mitel OpenScape Voice: support, maintenance and upgrades
Mitel OpenScape Voice, formerly HiPath 8000, is a fully SIP-based platform for very large organisations, with two data centres active at the same time. We help you with OpenScape Voice support and operations, upgrades, redundancy and integration with Teams and Mitel CX, and with the SBC that protects the traffic between your network, your operator and Teams.
We usually start with a simple inventory of your PBX, licences and integrations.
About Mitel OpenScape Voice
Telephony in the data centre, built to keep running
OpenScape Voice is a voice platform built entirely on SIP, designed for the same availability requirements as the operators’ own systems, with a built-in media server. It runs as software in the data centre and handles up to 100,000 users per system. Mitel targets organisations with 10,000 users or more, and service providers.
The platform was formerly called HiPath 8000 and comes from Siemens and Unify. The servers can be located in two data centres that are both active, with a third site that decides which side continues if the link between them breaks. The latest version is V11.
We have many years of experience with OpenScape Voice in large environments and are certified on Mitel CX with OpenScape Voice.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions about Mitel OpenScape Voice
Who is OpenScape Voice for?
Very large organisations, according to Mitel from 10,000 users upwards, and service providers. One system handles up to 100,000 users.
How does it differ from OpenScape 4000?
OpenScape Voice is fully SIP-based and runs as software in the data centre. OpenScape 4000 also handles analogue and digital extensions and wireless DECT phones directly. The two can be connected.
Can two data centres share the PBX?
Yes. The servers can be at different sites and both be active, with a third site that decides which side continues. We describe how backup routes can be built in the guide Redundancy and failover for telephony.
Does it work with Teams?
Yes, via Direct Routing with OpenScape SBC or a certified third-party SBC, such as AudioCodes.
Can we add Mitel CX?
Yes. Mitel CX 3.0 works with OpenScape Voice V10 R3 and V11.
Can it run in the cloud?
Yes, with a service provider that shares the platform between several customers, or as a hybrid with part of it running in your own environment. We can also run it for you as a private cloud hosted in Sweden.
